Pakistani wedding traditions are based on rules .The bride wears a long skirt. For the wedding ceremony, and common jewelry worn includes a pair of earrings, teeka, rings, and necklace. Food is a very important part of any Pakistani wedding. It is served after the nikah, and it comes in many varieties of sweets, biriyanis, vegetables, and salads. Non-vegetarian food such as meat and beef is also served. 4.The family have a fish and chips shop. 5.We know that George has his first wife in Pakistan. 6.Yes he has. 7.He though that women in Britain are always drinking alcohol and they're bad people. 8.He bocomes agressive and possesive. He wants his wife and children to obey him, and he once beats his wife and son. 9.She has to suffer the pakistani traditios because of her husband. She is afraid of him. Also, she has to take care of the hole family, because her husband doesn't help at home. 10.At the end of the film he seems to understand that he's doing harm to his family. POINTS OF DISCUSSION: a) In our opinion, Ella is more tolerant than George because the father doesn't respects the european traditions, only his customs. b)Yes,George ill-treat his wife. One of the brothers forgotts his girlfriend when he goes to live with the brother who lives outside the city. c)Yes, the father doesn't accept the catholic religion and vice versa. d)The father wants to get married his children with a typical islam women, not for others countries. The children hates the typical islam clothes like tunics. e)When Tariq and Abdul are obligated to get married with the other two girls .If I was Tariq or Abdul I wouldn't get marry.
1.- The preparation is in Nazir´s house. On one side, the girls help each other to get ready, to comb the air... On the other side all the boys together in one room are preparing themselves and Nazir putting on the special clothes.
2.- With the neighbours they don´t have much relationship because they usually interact with other Pakistanis and not with britons. There´s an old man in the neighbour who can´t stand the family but however Annie is a great friend of the family and is always with them.
3.- The Pakistani father try to find a wife for his son, who can't choose if he wants to get married or not. In the wedding both are apart from the other they can´t see the other until the last time when both take out their hats. The moments before the weeding are for each family´s preparations they are all wearing special Pakistani clothes.
4.- They run a chippy which is a typical shop in England where you can buy fish and chips for eating. Is Ella´s business

10.- He finally don´t learns anything because he continues behaving in the same way and mistreating his sons.
DISCUSSION:
a) In my opinion is much more comprehensive the woman than George because tolerates that their children behave like Bristish kids and not everything like Paki ones.
b) George has a sexist attitude with women in the whole film because he thinks that they have to obey their husbands.
c)Yes it is a cause of conflict because the father wants his family to have a Pakistani religion but the mother doesn´t trust on it too much because she is educated with the Bristish religion and educational way.
d)The young generations don´t have the same mental thoughts as their father because Zaheed is relly radical and intolerant with them in the way that they can´t do something that it´s bad to the Paki religion. The father instead things that he is doping the right thing for their future and plans it without telling them his plans.
e) In Ella´s situation I would have taken my sons when Zaheed was hitting them and forces two to get married with two girls they are not in love with, so I would have taken them to a safer place and started a new life in peace.
1. Like in ordinary families they have arguments and become nervous, then George, prepare Nazir in traditionaly Pakistani way, he make up his eyes and put on a strange hat. 2. They had a good relationship with the neighbours, they had friends, and one of the sons a girlfriend but the grandfather of this girls is so racist and maybe other ones are too but they didn't appear at the film. 3. The boy and the girl didn't meet each other before, they are engaged by their parents, the Iman married them. 4. The have a fish and chips shop. 5. He has another family because muslim mans can married with more than one women. 6. Wetryuioi 7. He thinks that britain women don't look after their husbands and they don't respect them and that they have to obey them just because they are theirs wifes. George said that they just talk and smoke. 8. He became more agressive and less tolerant. 9. She is a good mother, she just want their sons be happy but she also love her husband and in fact this difficult their happyness, she is so tolerant. 10. No, he didn't care about what his family told him. but at the end of the film he looks remorseful.
POINTS FOR DISCUSSION:
A) The mother is more tolerant because she just want her sons to be happy and she tries to understand them. B) Yes, George is machomen: he hit his wife and he thinks that just because she is his wife she has to obey him. C)Ofcourse, the muslims are more strict and less tolerant, George's sons want to be Catholic like ordinary people in England. D)The teenagers want to go out with their friends, fall in love and follow their dreams but George wants that they think about study, work and be a good Pakistani E) In Nazir's situation I would have gone away and start a new life although I would feel sad because I couldn´t see my brothers, my sister and my mother.
